GH Recap 11/07: Ten Centimeters

Apparently there was an election of some sort? The beginning of the show is interrupted by a news conference of the winner of that election. I don't read the papers. Then there is another several minutes of Charlie Gibson kindly telling us all exactly what we just heard. I wonder if someone could invent, say, 5 stations that are devoted to nothing but news 24 hours a day. I think they'd be really popular.

On with the show...

I believe the setting is Metrocourt. Jax and Jason are discussing The Danger, I presume. Jax is angry to be speaking with Jason b/c Jax understands that Jason is going to big, fat, stupid save whatever day and doesn't like to waste his time giving wrong answers.

The Control Room: Jerry gallantly dinks around with some sort of bomb. I think it's a potato with an that lost it's joystick strapped to it. I wish I were kidding. Sam is looking very today, which is always a good thing. He fondles his potatoes, and she tries to be a seductispy. I keep wishing Magruber would show and start calling out "Quick, hand me that beer coozie. Okay, now, Jerry, I need that protractor" But then the ship blows up before Magruber can work his magic. Jerry threatens to turn the very impotent looking knob on his remote control detonator and blow them both up. Why have a remote control if you are going to blow yourself up? Seems like a waste of time. Sam screams and begs for him to stop.

Carly's House: Sonny is up and dressed, thankfully, though he is breathing heavily. Carly wants to know if he's going to The Revenge.

Kate's Room: Claud has shown up in an odd outfit that is at once a bit flouncy but also tight fitting. Olivia throws Claud out and tells Kate not to think about Claud and Sonny. Kate pathetically says she loves Sonny. Olivia leaves to return Claud's coat and discovers Claud's phone. The music acts like the phone is made out of dead baby parts.

The Control Room: Jerry says the blah blah wasn't activated. He won't blow up the boat until he gets a bunch of cash. Sam explains the obvious that no one will look for Jerry b/c they'll think he's dead. Jerry says Sam is the glue that holds her scheme together.

Jericho: Luke and Laura stand outside. She wants to know where they are now b/c she can't make plans on her future until he's been honest. Guitar Guy maudlinly plinks away as Laura asks Luke if he loves Tracy.

Commercials

Carly's: Oh, Carly has a gun. I like when wardrobe remembers that it's winter and the show is set in upstate NY. Carly has a very lovely black trench coat that I covet. sonny limps all around and gasps and groans. He says that it's not actually The Revenge anymore, so he only wants to kill Krapov b/c of The Danger. Or the You're Dead To Me. Sonny says tonight he's going to take back what was taken from him. Or something dopey like that. Carly says a lot has been taken from her, and she can't sit through his murder trial. he says it won't be the last time she sees him. WHICH IS NOT WHAT SHE'S SAYING, but whatever, Mumbles, have at it.

Laurel Canyon: Nik has a map of all the well apportioned cabins that pepper the scarcely populated town of Los Angeles. Looloo points out that Tracy is involved in all this too.

LA's Only Hotel: Scotty and Tracy fight about Scotty's stupid plan that only served to push Luke and Laura together. Scotty wants destiny to take its course.

Jericho: Luke says he has strong feelings for Tracy. She asks if they started before or after he got Tracy drunk. Luke says it was long after and creeped up on him. He breaks the news about this Christmas Heart Attack. Laura is greatly concerned. I forgot Luke had three bypass surgeries. Geeze, that sounds impossibly lame. Laura is surprised Luke would go through with it. Luke says that it was Tracy who helped him through it. he says his feelings for her shocked him, almost as much as he's shocked looking at Laura now. Laura lets out this funny laugh that is half sob, half giggle. She says the doctors would be shocked too. she knows it may be temporary, but she will think of it as permanent b/c she wants to live. Tears drop down her face as he asks what she wants out of her life. She curtly asks if he expects her to say that she wants him back.

Commercials

Jason's Office: Spinelli commends Jason's eagle eye skills at Sam's. Jason thinks Jerry must have made a sweep of the room so there wouldn't be a trace. as I said before Jason's answers = best, so they decide to stick with this. Spinelli starts typing "icr 3ukaior e rjw" on El Laptopo.

Docks: Olivia finds Krapov on the docks and asks why he shot Kate. Krapov tells her he didn't. Olivia says that Sonny doesn't believe this b/c he's coming after Krapov. Krapov gleefully tells Olivia that Sonny has met with an accident. but then the music gets super awesomely cheesy, and Sonny comes dragging himself out of the shadows and says "dead wrong."

Jericho: Luke says nothing will ever change the place she holds in his heart. Laura covers her face with the blanket she has wrapped around her. Luke assumes Scotty filled Laura with lies about Luke. Laura says Scotty only told her truth: Luke married Scotty, Laura once loved Scotty, Scotty wasn't always the villain- they made him into that...or Luke did. I love when they rearrange the good old fashioned GH theme into something sadder or more touching but so familiar. It's easily my top 5 favorite things about this show. They rarely do it, and they only do it for old school couples, as they should. Laura simply says "truth" and then goes back inside, leaving Luke to stare up at the stars.

Commercials

Carly's: Carly is off to take her poofy hair on some hair brained scheme. She runs into Jax and says she doesn't have time. Jax has divorce papers. "Just sign them and we can be done with this farce." Carly has the nerve to look surprised.

Docks: Sonny barks at Olivia to beat it. She complies...well...of course. she only walks into a shadow and then eaveslurks. Sonny pulls out a gun all wimpily. It's like his wrist was stabbed as well and won't work right. He and Krapov share famous last words and such, and then Sonny shoots Krapov. But apparently Maurice Bernard has NEVER fired a gun in his life b/c for some reason he wiggles his hand all around...sort of like what you'd do if you were going to throw the gun at the other guy, opposed to simply firing. And he does this before the sound effect, so it's not like he's trying to indicate kickback. Oh, Sonny, you peculiar little dude. But I will say this may be the first time I've seen him actually take care of business. He shoots Krapov several more times for good measure.

Control Room: Jerry continues to give Sam every stupid detail of his overly involved plan. Why do bad guys do this? But then again, why does he think potatoes are deadly weapons?

Jericho: Luke says that no matter what happens, she's the one angel he's known. She smiles wryly and says she's no angel "that your idea, your fantasy of what the perfect woman would be." Luke quickly says he never wants perfect, and she's so much more than perfect. She taught him about something he'd never thought he'd know: Love. She smiles and says they were pretty amazing. He agrees. She cries a little, and they kiss good bye while Piano Guy tenderly and sweetly improvises with the theme song.

I love that too Mad. I'd take that any day of the week over the hijinks music.
