GH Recap 11/12: Jerry Faaaaaallls to Pieces

Tracy and Laura have it out, leaving Tracy in tears.

Jason and Sam make it soggily to shore and hope Jerry was in the ship when it exploded.

Mac doesn't believe Carly was really with Sonny all night, so she takes the syringe and drops 3 big ol' drops of her addiction onto a sugar cube and lets it dissolve as she explains, in front of Jax that and Sonny slept together. b/c that's so humiliating and lame, obviously no one in their right mind would lie about it.

PCPD Bullpen: Sonny is more than happy to let Carly mess up any happiness (that she totally doesn't deserve). Jax leaves in a pout. I suppose he wants to go find someone like Skye now and ruin her life? Or maybe look up Brenda and leave her at the altar again? Shut up, Jax's humiliation. You've handed out more than your fair share. Diane insists that Sonny be let go b/c obviously his alibi checks out b/c obviously Carly wouldn't destroy her marriage for Sonny, even though anyone who doesn't know she would must have turnip greens in their hair.

Nurse's station: Maxie snottily asks Liz to get off the phone and help her. She rudely asks for any cards or messages for Robin. Liz snots right back that she's a nurse, not a secretary and she's only been respectful to Maxie b/c of Robin, but she doesn't really like a person who would get her husband hooked on drugs and fake a pregnancy, and someone should really warn Spinelli. And maybe all that is true, Liz, but Maxie GOT A GUY HOOKED ON DRUGS AND FAKED A PREGNANCY, why would you think she wouldn't do something else awful to you just for kicks. Sonny you can stomp over. Big whoop, he's just a mobster. Maxie is a (much beloved) whacko when she's grieving. Russians Schmussians is what I'm saying. I wouldn't go around pissing Maxie off.

Q Manse: Looloo meets with Tracy to sweetly let her know she's thinking of her in this really soapy time.

Spencer Home: Laura angrily tells Luke that she went to see his wife. She thinks it's safe to say they understand each other. Laura says Tracy made it clear to hand him over any time soon. Luke says no one is in the "position to hand me over to anyone" The question is "what are we going to do about us."

and yes, when two gross guys like, say Patrick and Coleman are fighting over a girl, and Coleman is all "you know what, she's all yours" That woman has the right to be indignant and wonder why either Patrick or Coleman think they have the final say. But when Patrick or Coleman or Luke or Monica or Liz or anyone MARRIES a person, then, yes, the other person actually does have some sort of say in who their spouse sleeps with. At the moment that you don't believe your spouse has a say? Is the moment right before you need to call a divorce attorney and put the other person out of their misery.

Commercials

Jason's Penthouse: Maxie storms in to say no matter what that jealous cow Liz says, she will never do anything to hurt him. She can't believe Liz would bring up that Lucky stuff. Spinelli asks her what Liz could do, and Maxie says she can say warn Spinny about him and say what a black hole she is. Spinny says he already knows, and then clarifies that he sees her, warts and all and is still her friend. Just then Jason and Sam soggily and hotly walk in. Maxie wonders if she should even ask what happened.

Cafe Interrogate: Sonny thanks Carly for the alibi. He asks why she had to say they had sex. Carly says she couldn't very well tell the truth "that I saw Krapov try to kill you, and I fished you out of the 8 foot deep harbor, and fed you tepid soup and cared for you all night? Or that we played Monopoly?" What? Monopoly can actually take hours, if not DAYS to finish.

Spencer Home: Laura thinks the bond between them is still there and given time would be stronger than ever, but she's not sure if they should be together right now. She says Tracy made a good point about how much Luke has changed. Laura says she's changed too. I can't see how, but regardless, she thinks Luke needs to move on, and so should she. Suddenly her kids rush in b/c I guess they just all hang out in the same car all day and wait to be summoned. Laura says she thinks everyone would just be worried that she would sink into a relapse, so she's going to pursue her therapy to see if they can find something permanent. She wants a shot at a real life, and she thinks she can find that in France, so that's where she's going to go.

and I know it's a casting issue and budget issue, and I'm not thrilled about Genie Francis being wasted running Kelly's or something, but this is such a stupid reason to explain her absense. If I had 3 kids and several grandkids, THAT is all I'd want to be doing. It just seems to be more realistic, if they just say she has a house over in Port George and that's where Spencer and Jakeson and Cameron are all those times we don't see them.

Commercials

Spencer Home: Laura tells Lucky that her old life is lost to her, so she's going to build a new one. Lucky asks what about Luke. Laura says Luke is with someone else now. She says it's not easy, but life changes rapidly, what with actors growing old or getting jobs in prime time, or writers getting fired and thus storylines getting dropped, so you have to just learn to roll with it. Laura points out reasonably, that for example Lucky used to have a worm farm and fell in love with Elizabeth, his first love, and he was a much better actor, though not quite as hunky, and it all made sense. But with the recast, he's just kind of a hunky lunkhead. Lucky says he understands and realizes that's probably why he's with Sam. They hug.

Jason's Penthouse: Maxie has to leave so they can all discuss The Danger. Maxie makes her anger about this known and calls out angrily as Spinelli whisks her off that Spinelli lives here too. Spinelli takes Maxie into the hallway and asks for her discretion. She easily agrees b/c he's her friend and rarely asks for anything, and she doesn't care what kind of water sports Jason and Sam are involved in. I'm just not even gonna touch that one.

Spinelli goes back in and assures Sam and Jason that Maxie will be quiet. He spinellis it and makes Sam laugh that she's missed him. Spinelli thinks this feels like old times. Jason and Sam aren't quite comfortable with that idea.

Spencer Home: Nik has been busy doing paper work-y type things. I guess Looloo and Lucky are waiting in the LauraKidsMobile for this scene, just like Loo and Nik were for the last scene and just like Nik and Lucky will for the upcoming Looloo scene. Laura and Nik talk. She says Nik still misses Emily. He chokes back tears and says he is, and he's trying to get past it, but it's not his first inclination. And hasn't it been less than a year? Laura says he's on the right path, and the only cure is the passage of time and living your life. Nik says Laura is the woman who taught him everything about courage and love, and they embrace.

Cafe Interrogate: Sonny impossibly arrogantly mumbles to Carly that he hopes she understands that they aren't getting back together now or start doing different stuff. Carly bursts into tears of indignant anger and says she never wants to be with him again. "I'd rather jump off the Brooklyn Bridge than be with you." That is such a hilariously random thing to say. She doesn't want to just jump of a bridge. Oh, no, she wants to take a long asss train to Penn Station and then get on the A train OR take a flight to LaGuardia, and then take a veryexpensive and tedious cab ride and THEN jump off a bridge. lol, that is a seriously rude way to say you'd rather jump off a bridge than be with someone. Carly flounces out of Cafe Interrogate, adn I think Mac tells her that Jactslikeawoman has done something rogue in the harbor. Or maybe he says Jerry has. I guess that would make more sense.

Commercials

Before I go, I will add that Maxie carefully gossips to Epiphany that she saw Jason and Sam all soaking wet. Epiphany asks why on earth Maxie is telling her this. Maxie just smiles wryly as Liz angrily jumps onto the next open elevator, clutching her sweater in bitter frustration. Liz, sweety, honey pie, I ain't kidding. Don't mess with The Maxie.

Great job. I haaaate the fact that Laura is leaving for France. It's just SO out of character for her to leave her kids and grandkids after being comatose for the last umpteen years and now finally being awake. I get so mad when I read the interviews where Guza talks about budget issues and "so many actors/storylines" and having to pick and choose. So why can't they just trim the fat? Couldn't he manage to write off the characters he can't be bothered to use enough to make a storyline even relevant, like Matt/Shawn Douglas/whatever his name is, and the ones we just can't be bothered to care about, like Nadine - and use that payroll money to keep Genie Francis on a contract? Sorry for rambling and ranting. Keep up the great work, Mad!
